Michael Pearce Donley


Michael Pearce Donley ( Author/ Hugh Butternut ) is a songwriter and concert artist; he wrote the original music and produced the recorded tracks for Triple Espresso. He's been seen in the long-running hit Forever Plaid , and in Pump Boys and Dinettes. He's been involved in the Minnesota Fringe Festival since 2001, collaborating on shows such as Amnesiac Jack, Nibblers: a musical with sharks , and Someone Else's Clothes. He was commissioned by Nautilus Music Theater to compose music for Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks' play cycle 365 Plays/365 Days. His original music has been featured in the popular children's recording GT and the Halo Express, and he was the musical director for the national live radio program Sunday Nite. He often does shows with his wife, theater director Joy Donley, but their favorite collaboration is in the raising of their 2 children, Emma and Lewis.
